<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That is most strange, considering that now the US wants to host 2 F1 racers a year. Projects are underway to allow for a street race in New York. Now that should be exciting! Originally posted by captain spazmatic:
Good point, Chosen One. If you think a NASCAR race is a party, go to Le Mans one year. Now that's a party !!
And with NASCAR being as big as it is, I'm surprised that GT racing has never caught on here.

And what are the chances of a martin truex JR figure??
Steve, Le Mans is insane. It's awesome going to sleep at night in the infield and feeling the ground shake. Being served hot chocolate in a bowl is kind of odd though. My friend and I got busted sneaking onto the Mulsanne Straight by the local police. We were pretty sure we were going to spend the rest of the race in jail, but for some reason they drove us into the pits and told us it was safer to watch the race from there.
Of course, that's when the French only hated Americans a little bit.

...that's OK! That's when I only hated the French a little bite, too.

One question, which year was it?
I'm old........ it must have been 1969. I remember a driver being killed on the first lap of the race. What was really cool was that we caught the ferry over from England and hitched to Le Mans. The guy that picked us up was a retired driver from team MG. His driving to get us to the race on time was a hell of a lot of fun.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Damn, I think you just gave me back a few years. Originally posted by captain spazmatic:
